A woman reported to Darien Police Headquarters shortly after 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, stating that her wallet had been stolen, and she realized it when she attempted to pay for her items.
Police said that the woman stated her purse had been in the child seat portion of the carriage while she was shopping, “and was certain it was there when she entered the store.” The woman told investigators that she left the cart unattended twice while shopping.
According to police, inside the wallet, there was $60 in cash, her driver’s license, and several bank cards. The incident remains under investigation.
